Location of the winery

The KRISTALL KELLEREI, the oldest wine farm in Namibia, is located close to the Erongo mountain range at about 1300 meters altitude. The climate between two deserts, the Namib and the Kalahari, is hot and the soils are sandy. The vineyards are irrigated from an own well. Some rainfall can be expected in the small rainy season, from October to December, and the main rainy season extends from February to April. The current acreage is +/- 3.5 ha. The first vines were planted in 1990 and the first harvest was completed successfully in 1994.
